K just filled in one of the Scrabble words entirely by herself (using the colour clues and self-correcting placement of the tiles), then told me that it was a word which needed a “magic e” on the end. It was “pie”, and she was able to tell me that the middle sound was “i”. I told her about the magic e yesterday – once. After B, it’s kinda freaky having a kid who remembers things about reading after only one telling!
