Monday B went to pottery and German as usual, but not much else happened. A parcel arrived from MG and they girls voted to open their Christmas presents early. K got a book called The Stick Man and B one called Kaspar, Prince of Cats, by Michael Morpurgo (who appears to be one of MG’s favourite authors).

B came out on Tuesday morning confused because the books she was reading (Kaspar) was talking about the cat being a survivor of the Titanic, but she thought there hadn’t been any survivors. So we googled for further information, and found a couple of clips on YouTube.

Watching (footage from the movie Titanic) and listening to the story of how so many people died left both of us feeling a little traumatised, so we didn’t look for any further clips if there were any, and ended up at Titanic Facts to answer the question “How many passengers survived?” (705). Apparently there is now only one still alive, who was 2 months old at the time of the shipwreck.
